2011 NAPOA/NAAALEC Conference
Once again NAAALEC will be co-sponsoring this year's annual NAPOA conference. This year's conference is being held Aug. 22-26th @ the Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego, CA. Here are some important points regarding the conference:
- All current NAAALEC members will be eligible for the half-price registration fee of $250.00
- All current retired NAAALEC members will be offered a special registration fee of $125.00
- NAPOA has requested that each individual association collect registration & payment from their members and submit one association check for all members attending under the special rates. So please contact me if you're interested. I've attached a conference brochure and registration form.
- Please reserve your room ASAP as the room block for the conference is starting to fill-up, conference room rates are $139.00 plus applicable taxes.
- Please go to the NAPOA website (www.napoaonline.org) for hotel reservation information, registration information and up to date conference information.
- NAAALEC will again be organizing a few courses emphasizing leadership (i.e. first line supervision, mid-level management) Please advise if you are interested or willing to participate.
- I've attached a tentative conference schedule (but please keep in mind it's a work in progress and subject to change).
Other NAAALEC business:
- We are working with NAPOA in trying to create a mentorship program for interested NAPOA members, please contact president John Lee if you are interested in becoming a mentor.
- NAAALEC Leadership Awards: once again NAAALEC would like to recognize two deserving NAAALEC members. If there is a deserving individual that you would like to nominate please email your nomination with a brief paragraph stating why you are nominating this individual to president John Lee.
- Current NAAALEC board positions will be up for election this year, if you are interested in serving on the board please contact president John Lee.
- There will be a NAAALEC membership meeting held during the conference on Tues (08/23/11)
- We are working on obtaining NAAALEC challenge coins and polo shirts (hopefully in time for the conference).
- Please renew your membership for this year if you haven't done so already. Your support is important for NAAALEC to continue, you can obtain a membership application on our website http://www.naaalec.org/naaalec_membership.htm
